Guidelines and Point System

 

Roll Call:

1. Each institution will perform a chant/song, no longer than 5 minutes.

2. Background music is welcomed if given in advance,

3. No vulgar language is allowed; remember this will represent your RHA/RHF/RSA national anthem!

4. Points:

i.   1st Place: 100

ii.  2nd Place: 75

iii. 3rd Place: 50

iv.  For participating: 30

 

Best Display: Torch

1. No real fire or gas

2. Must be made out of recycled materials

3. No more than 2 ft tall

4. Base/Stand can be no wider than 1.5 ft

5. Points:

i.   1st Place: 100

ii.  2nd Place: 75

iii. 3rd Place: 50

iv.  For participating: 20

 

Best Clothespins:

1. Each school must submit 5 clothespins to the Spirit Committee

2. Points:

i.   1st Place: 100

ii.  2nd Place: 75

iii. 3rd Place: 50

 

Best Banner: Flag

1. Each institution will represent their school by creating a flag of their "nation," a.k.a. their university

2. Must be roughly 3ft x 4.5ft

3. Must represent home university

4. If mascot is put on the flag, the mascot may take up no more than 1/5 of the flag's area

5. Points:

i.   1st Place: 100

ii.  2nd Place: 75

iii. 3rd Place: 50

iv.  For participating: 20

 

Other ways to earn points:

1. Presenting a program: 25 points

- Top program recieves addition 5 points

2. Tweeting a picture to VACURH  2016: 1 point

3. Tweeting a picture with a delegate and the Hokie Bird to VACURH 2016: 5 points

4. Tweeting a picture recycling and tagging the Chesapeake Bay Foundation: 5 points

5. Original Cheers:

- During open ceremonies: 2 points

- During rest of conference: 1 point
